Here you can find a lot of information about these “golden dogs” and about us – the people working to preserve and develop our favorite breed in Bulgaria.

Our club was officially established in May, 2003. Our main goal, then and now, was and is to support the purity of breeding of golden retrievers in Bulgaria and keep the breed at its best. This is why, from the very beginning, we created rules and regulations to guarantee that all club litters will keep up to the image and standard of the Golden Retriever created in the UK about 100 years ago.

We founded this club to unite the efforts of people who are willing and ready to work for the development of the breed in our country. All people, considering themselves as such, and ready to abide to the club's Statute and breeding regulations, are welcome to apply for membership at the NATIONAL GOLDEN RETRIEVER CLUB .

As a member of the Bulgarian National Cynology Federation, NGRC is a part of FCI (Federation Cynologique International). The NATIONAL GOLDEN RETRIEVER CLUB will have the exclusive right to certify whether a dog is a purebred golden retriever or not. Legitimate stud dogs and brood bitches of purebred golden retrievers in Bulgaria can only be dogs, that have successfully passed the test for breeding suitability.

The Golden retriever is the fastest growing breed, quickly winning popularity in our corner of the world, as these good, intelligent, jolly, workaholic, and incredibly beautiful animals make friends with anyone anywhere.
